My Dear Parishioners, Blessings from our Lord Jesus be with you all. We are blessed to have so many good hearted people among us, especially Catholics who love their Catholic faith here at All Saints Catholic church and school. Our goal here at All Saints church is to help everyone love God and one another, and together, we will inherit the eternal life of heaven with all the saints. Let us open the doors of church and school, and above all, the doors of our hearts to welcome everyone coming to All Saints - the old and the young, the healthy and the sick, the born and the unborn - we love them all. We are here to pray and to worship, to teach and to learn, to love and to serve one another.
Finally, please put on your calendar that our All Saints Marian Day this year will be Saturday, October 7th at 3pm with Holy Mass by Bishop Kemme, followed by the outdoor Eucharistic and Marian procession and meals for everyone. This is a special event for our church and school to bring God’s children together from many languages, cultures and races. All Saints Catholic school PTO will provide fun activities for all kids outdoors along with many other vendors and organizations. Here is the event schedule: October 6th at 3pm, indoor food sale and outdoor vendors and music; 7pm will be the lions/dragons dance performance, followed by the children's lenten celebration and music (mid-autumn festival). Saturday 9am there will be more outdoor vendors and music/karaoke until 2pm with confessions in church, followed by 3pm Mass, etc. All the costs related to this special event will be paid for by the Vietnamese food sales. Please bring your families, friends and neighbors to join us for a minute, an hour, a day or even the whole weekend. We would love to share our joy, love and happiness with everyone. God is good to us all, let us be good to one another, Fr. Hien My Dear Parishioners,
The summer is over and our children are back to school. They are starting to learn all that they can throughout this school year as they are growing in bodies, minds and spirit. Of all that is important in life, learning to love God and one another is the most important lesson we want to teach these children. The children are eager to learn, especially from our professional teachers and from their parents, grandparents, family members and friends, especially their examples of faith. Please do everything you can to attend Holy Mass and to bring your children closer to God. (Thank you to all those who attended the Holy Day of Obligation on the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, August 15th. Any Catholic who failed to attend Holy Mass on the Holy Day of obligation is to confess before he/she can receive Holy Communion again). Always pray with them before your meals as well as before bedtime. Personally, I always enjoy seeing everyone in church. I also love to celebrate Holy Mass with our children. They are full of life, energy and honesty. Please continue praying for our students, teachers, staff and especially the HVAC workers and electricians. Everyone is here to serve our Lord by taking care of one another. Any child who is attending a Catholic school like here at All Saints Catholic school does not have to take any other religion classes because lessons are given to them everyday. They also live out their Catholic faith by attending their all school Mass on Tuesday and Thursday at 8am. Everyone is invited to join us for Holy Mass. Lastly, any child who does not attend a Catholic school needs to attend PSR (parish school of religion) program, to learn their religion lessons. In order for us to look for volunteers to teach in the PSR program, we need to know how many kids are interested in this program. If a child is not attending a Catholic school and is interested in our PSR program, please contact the church office by September 3rd. It’s the responsibility of the parents that their kids are learning their Catholic faith as well as living it daily. God bless us all, Fr. Hien Please join me in welcoming back our children for their new school year here at All Saints this Wednesday, August 16th. This new school year will be very special to all of us because of the new HVAC system being installed for our school. This new system will last us for many years to come. However, it is a great sacrifice for our church family to provide this nice system for our children, with one heating and air conditioning unit per classroom. It costs around $700 thousand for this project, so we all need to put our hands and hearts together to help pay for it. Please, parents, grandparents, relatives of our children, benefactors of our church and school, alumni of All Saints, and all good-hearted people, please help us with your contribution so that we can pay for this very important project for the good of so many children today and many years to come. Every dollar is needed and appreciated. Thank you to so many parishioners for your tithe and generosity to our church and school, and for your love, prayers, and financial support.
Holy Day of Obligation—all Catholics are obligated to attend Holy Mass this Tuesday, August 15 th at our church or at another Catholic church. Holy Masses are 12 noon and 5pm in English, and 6:30pm in Vietnamese. Mother Mary was taken body and soul to heaven because she loved God so much, she trusted in God, and she served God every moment of her life on earth; therefore, God crowned her as our spiritual Mother, to always pray for us sinners until we all are in heaven with her and our Lord Jesus. Holy Mary, pray for us, Fr. Hien My Dear Parishioners, as you are reading this bulletin, I am in Carthage, Missouri with Bishop Kemme for our annual pilgrimage to honor the Blessed Mother Mary and to pray for the salvation of souls. There will be thousands of Catholics, as many as 80 thousand, mostly Vietnamese from all over the world for this special event. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers every day. I will be praying daily for you all at two Masses per day, beside other religious events such as adoration and the procession. As a priest, my main reason for attending this important event is to help many people through the sacraments, especially with the sacrament of the sick and of penance. I usually hear about 4 hours of confessions a day. If you ever wonder what this event is like, I highly recommend that you and your family attend, you will not regret it and it will be an eye opener to many. You will either set up your own tents or stay in a hotel, but you would have to book it about a year in advance. There will be so many cultural events with food and skills and talents, performances as well as spiritual talks, all day and night. If you know me well by now, you should know that no matter where I am, my heart will always be with the people of All Saints. Again, thank you to my brother priests for helping my parishioners with their priestly ministry. Please help me in thanking them before God and also personally. Thank you and thank you to so many parishioners for your love, prayers, and financial support to our church’s family. Enjoy your last few weeks of summer. Thank you and I love you all, Fr. Hien
