My Dear Parishioners,
How are you doing? Blessings from our Lord be with you all. Please join me in thanking God for a cousin of mine who was ordained a transitional deacon on Thursday, February 4th in Vietnam with ten other men. These men will be ordained to the priesthood this coming July. These men have been studying for the priesthood since they were in high school, close to twenty years ago. I am hoping that I will be able to attend my cousin’s priesthood ordination in Vietnam this summer. Sadly, I doubt that I will be able to travel due to COVID-19 restrictions, etc.…. Let us see what God has in mind for me this summer. Let us continue praying for those who are sick with COVID-19 throughout the whole world and for the end of the pandemic. This weekend is Valentine’s weekend, let us pray for every couple, especially those who have been married for a long time. May their true love lead them to daily happiness and the blessing of eternal life together in heaven when their earthly life is ended. We were created and given life to be together on earth as it will be in heaven. Let us love one another as God loves us, unconditionally and all the time. Happy Valentine’s everyone! Last week, we celebrated Catholic schools week. I want to say on behalf of our All Saints Catholic school children and our children attending Catholic High Schools, THANK YOU to anyone who has been praying and supporting our children with your stewardship to our parish, especially your financial support. You are making a difference in the hearts, minds, and souls of our children. They will forever be grateful to you for your love. Please join me for our Ash Wednesday Holy Masses on Wednesday, February 17th, at 8am & 12noon with our All Saints children and at 6:30pm Vietnamese/English. To be safe from COVID-19 for everyone, there will be no distribution of ashes nor Stations of the Cross during Lent. Stations of the Cross booklets will be available for personal devotion only. Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are obligatory days of fasting and abstinence (no meat with only one full meal, and two smaller meals). Fridays during Lent are days of abstinence (no meat). Happy Lunar New year, year of the ox, to everyone, especially the Vietnamese in our parish, Fr. Hien My Dear Parishioners,
Blessings from our Lord be with you and with our beloved deceased family, friends and parishioners. Sadly, two more of our parishioners passed to eternal life recently. First, Myrna Straub, a long-time parishioner, passed to eternal life on Sunday, January 17. Her funeral was held in our church on Tuesday, January 26. Second, Janet Duke, our parishioner and beloved teacher, suddenly passed to eternal life on Sunday, January 17. She was a faithful parishioner and a lifelong teacher at All Saints Catholic School. Everyone who knew her, including myself, loved her. She was a gentle person who lived to serve our Lord in our children at All Saints Catholic School. There was nothing that she would not do for anyone. Janet was a very special person who was well loved by so many people, especially her many students for 30 years. Let us thank God for Janet’s love for our church and school. May she and our deceased parishioners rest in peace eternally for she was faithful and true to Jesus on earth with her time, talent, and treasure. To thank God for Janet, we held a special all school Mass for her last Friday. Soon, we will have something at the school as a memorial for Janet’s lifelong service to All Saints Catholic School. Since September 2020, we have had two grades attending daily Mass per day. So far, our students and staff have been doing very well; we will start having four grades attend daily Mass per day beginning this week. We are also planning to have our 8th graders read the readings and petitions when they attend Mass. We are so blessed to have daily Mass in a large church, where it is safe for everyone. Please continue using hand sanitizer before and after Mass. Everyone is invited to join our children and all the angels and saints thanking and praising God at Holy Mass. Life is short unless you have Jesus in you, Fr. Hien My Dear Parishioners,
Prayers and thanksgiving to God for all the angels and saints who will always love us and pray for us until we are in heaven with our Lord. May we learn from the Holy Angels and Saints to devote our life, heart, mind, and soul to Jesus every day. Jesus loves us dearly, may we love him unconditionally, especially during this time in life. Many people have turned away from our beloved country, communities, families, and worst of all, away from God. Our country and families need us now more than ever before with our love for one another and for God. Please never change your loving hearts for God and your loved ones. Pray for peace, healing, and heavenly blessings. Again, our Bishop has asked us to pray to Mother Mary and St. Joseph throughout this new year. Please keep them close to your hearts everyday with your prayers. Most importantly, please pray for all dads that they would imitate the saintly example of St. Joseph to their wives and families, especially their children. The family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph are in heaven, may our entire family be one day too. Let us help each other to love Jesus and put His teachings into practice. He is the way, the truth, and the life for all peoples on earth and in heaven. Love you all, Fr. Hien Consecration to St. Joseph: O Glorious Patriarch and Patron of the Church! O Virgin Spouse of the Virgin Mother of God! O Guardian and Virginal Father of the Word Incarnate! In the presence of Jesus and Mary, we choose you this day to be our father, guardian, and protector. O great St. Joseph, whom God has made the Head of the Holy Family, accept us, we beseech you, though utterly unworthy, to be a member of your “Holy House.” Present us to your Immaculate Spouse; ask her also to adopt us as her children. With her, pray that we may constantly think of Jesus, and serve Him faithfully to the end of our lives. O Terror of Demons, increase in us virtue, protect us from the evil one, and help us not to offend God in any way. O Spiritual Father, we hereby consecrate ourselves to you. In faithful imitation of Jesus and Mary, we place ourselves and all our concerns under your care and protection. To you, after Jesus and Mary, we consecrate our bodies and souls, with all their faculties, our spiritual growth, our homes, and all our affairs and undertakings. Forsake us not, but adopt us as servants and children of the Holy Family. Watch over us at all times, but especially at the hour of death. Console and strengthen us with the presence of Jesus and Mary, so that with you, we may praise and adore the Holy Trinity for all eternity. Amen My Dear Parishioners,
Blessings from Our Lord be with you all. We were asked by our Bishop Kemme to pray throughout this year to our Blessed Mother and St. Joseph for the good of our diocese, families, and country. May our Lord, Blessed Mother and St. Joseph keep all of us healthy, safe, saintly, and always faithful to God and one another, especially during this pandemic time. Consecration to the Blessed Virgin Mary: Most Holy Virgin Mary, Tender Mother of all, we consecrate the Catholic Diocese of Wichita, all our parishes, schools, religious institutes, chapels, hospitals, clinics, all our ministries, all our families, and each and every person to your Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart, O Queen of the Most Holy Rosary. Please accept our consecration, Dearest Mother, and use us as you wish to accomplish your designs upon the world. O Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary, Queen of the Most Holy Rosary and Queen of the world, rule over us together with the Sacred Heart of Jesus Christ, Our King. Save us from the spreading flood of paganism, relativism, heresy, and apostasy. Kindle in our hearts and homes the love of purity, the practice of virtuous life, an ardent zeal for souls, a deeper love for Christ your Son in the Eucharist and fidelity to all the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church. We come with confidence to you, O Throne of Grace and Mother of Fair Love. Inflame us with the same Divine Fire which has inflamed your own Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart. Make our hearts and homes your shrine and through us make the Heart of Jesus together with your rule triumphant in every heart and home. Amen. (Due to limited space, prayer to St. Joseph will be in next week’s bulletin). Please join me in extending our love, prayer, and sympathy to the families of three parishioners who just passed to eternal life. Barbara Pate was 86 years old, died on Friday, January 8. Her rosary will be on Thursday, January 14 at 7:00 pm and her funeral Mass will be Friday, January 15 at 11:00 am, at All Saints Catholic Church by Fr. Patrick Malone. Jason Fritts, who was 50 years old, died Monday, December 28, 2020. Funeral Mass for Jason was held in our church on Thursday, January 7. Ray McCulloch, Jr., was 83 years old and died on Monday, January 4. We celebrated his funeral Mass on Friday, January 8 in our church of All Saints. I had the honor to celebrate Holy Masses for both Jason and Ray. They were put to rest on Friday, January 8 at Ascension Cemetery. May their souls and the souls of all our beloved ones be with Our Lord for eternal life. We pray and hope that we will see them in our Heavenly Father’s home of heaven. Resurrected Jesus, save your people, Fr. Hien My Dear Parishioners,
Happy Feast of the Baptism of Our Lord Jesus. Today, we are to remind ourselves of our own baptisms in Christ, that is, to recognize the heavenly grace God bestowed upon us on the day of our baptism. This special grace made us beloved sons and daughters of our God, destined for eternal life. Please keep your Catholic faith alive within you by having a personal relationship with God, especially through your daily prayers and thanksgiving to God. None of us will ever be able to thank God enough on earth, therefore, let us desire to thank and to praise God with all the angels and saints in heaven. Liturgically, the baptism of the Lord is the end of the Christmas season. Next weekend, it will be the second Sunday of ordinary time of cycle B. Personally, I want to thank everyone for your commitment to God by attending our Holy Masses. Christmas Masses were amazing, so many people attended, and our church was so beautiful. Thank you to all those who helped me make our church beautiful for Christmas and New Year, including those who donated money for the flowers. Thank you also for your personal Christmas cards, best wishes, countless prayers, and gifts, including monetary, to me. I am blessed to be here at All Saints and to be loved by so many. Thank You! I love you all and let us continue putting God first, and always loving one another as a church family. Finally, please join me in welcoming back our children to school on January 12. We will be focusing a lot on their Catholic faith and helping many of them receive their sacraments of First Confession and First Holy Communion, and the sacrament of Confirmation for our 7th and 8th graders in May. Please pray for the safety of our children and our teachers and staff. God bless, Fr. Hien My Dear Parishioners of All Saints,
Are you ready for Christmas? I have been preparing for Christmas since Thanksgiving. I can’t wait to be with you and your loved ones this Christmas. It’s because I love you, and sadly, I have not seen many of you for a long time due to the pandemic. Please bring your families to worship our Lord and to be blessed by Him. We have plenty of room and extra seats for everyone. As you will see, the inside and outside of our church are decorated with beautiful Christmas displays. 2020 has been a sad year for all of us worldwide; however, we know that God can turn our sadness and sorrows into joy if today we would trust in God, love Jesus, and worship Him as our God at Holy Mass. I trust that God will enlighten your hearts, minds, and souls this Christmas. Please come to our Holy Masses to receive Jesus and to be one with God. Jesus is our source of love, peace, joy, and heavenly happiness. Our Christmas Eve Masses are Thursday, December 24th at 4:00pm & 5:30pm. Christmas Day, Friday, December 25th at 9:00am & 10:45am (Viet). Merry Christmas with countless blessings from our God to you all. May you feel the love of God as the Holy Angels and Saints are feeling now and forever before God. Glory to God in the highest, and peace to His people on earth. I love you all & Merry Christmas, Fr. Hien My Dear Parishioners,
Blessings from Our Lord and His Blessed Mother be with you all. Thank you everyone for attending Holy Mass on the Solemnity of our Mother Mary. As you may know, Bishop Kemme has established the “Year of St. Joseph” from Dec 8, 2020 to Dec 7, 2021 for our diocese. Let us give our devotion to St. Joseph for he has been known as a great guardian and protector of the Church and of every family who imitates the Holy Family. Once again, let us congratulate our third graders of All Saints Catholic School for they received their First Confession and Holy Communion last weekend. We are all happy for you children. God bless you and remember Jesus always loves you. Next, we are preparing our second graders for their First Confession and Holy Communion in May 2021. Please keep our second graders in your prayers. Second Graders with Miss Ouano: Michael ulson, Jase Cash, David Dang, Alex Do, Thaddeus Fisher, Daniel Gonzalez, Elianna Guzman, Emma Hay, Aurielle Kodjovi, Aiden Le, Dat Le, Anthony LeDonne, Andy Nguyen Mai, Rebecca Nkouga, Xavier Oduor, Naomi Rocha, Noemi Rocha, Yajaira Rocha, Eloise Rumback, Romeo Sanchez and Adan Trejo Munoz. This week, I am busy helping our All Saints children, 4th-8th grades, with their confessions before Christmas. They are precious gifts from God to our church family, because of their faith in God and the Holy Sacraments. Also, this Sunday, December 20th at 3pm, everyone is invited to attend our Advent Penance Service in Church. Please stay 6 feet behind the person in front of you. Guest priests are Fr. Garett Burns, Fr. Matthew Siegman, and Fr. Michael Brungardt. You are to say your own Act of Contrition in church prior to entering for your confession. You will be standing in front of a black cloth to confess. The name of the confessor will be posted. PLEASE DO NOT TALK/VISIT/EAT OR DRINK IN CHURCH. Thank you! As a church family, let us extend our sympathy to the family of Eugenia “Jean” Ignowski, who passed to eternal life on November 27. Her funeral Mass was on Thursday, December 3rd in our church. May Jean and all our beloved deceased families, friends and parishioners be with our risen Lord, all the angels and saints in heaven. We love them all and we will continue praying and keeping them close to our hearts every day. Finally, our Christmas Eve Masses are Thursday, December 24th at 4:00pm (red pews) & 5:30pm (yellow pews). Christmas Day, Friday, December 25th at 9:00am & 10:45am (Vietnamese). Love you all, Fr. Hien Stewardship Message from Fr. Hien
My Dear Parishioners of All Saints, Blessings from our Lord through the love and intercessions of All Saints be with you all. As always, I am happy to be with you at Holy Mass to pray and to worship our God as a church family. Please know that you are the reason why I am here. I love you all and I ask God’s blessings upon you and your loved ones, living and deceased. I pray that you will be healthy, safe, joyful, and full of love for God and for one another. I live to love God and all the people God has entrusted to my care - Catholics, and non-Catholics alike. I am blessed to be here at All Saints and to be loved by you all. Thank you! I want to thank everyone for your true love for our Lord with your stewardship in our church and school. I admire many of you for your faithfulness during this pandemic time with your attendance in church and with your financial support to our church’s family. You are amazing and fearless during this pandemic time. Please trust that your reward will be great in heaven. Together, let us take good care of our church and facilities while continuing to provide Catholic education to our children through high school. Please know that up to 80 percent of your financial contribution pays for the Catholic education of our children, and 10 percent is a stewardship tithe to the diocese with an additional up to 7 percent to support two Catholic high schools in Wichita. As your pastor, I ask that everyone please support our church family with your tithe/treasure to provide Catholic education to our many children. Our children are the future of our families, church, community, and the whole world. Let us give the highest level of education and formation to them. To this day, whether a parent has been faithful to his/her pledge or not, I have not rejected one child from Catholic education. For Jesus said, "Let the children come to me and do not stop them, because the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these." Personally, I love to celebrate Holy Mass with them, and I want to make sure that what happened to me will not happen to them. I didn’t get to go to school from 4th grade to 8th grade as a child. Parents, please know that Catholic education is a special privilege for your children. They need your financial support to our parish. The parish pays $3,700 per student per year in high school, and about a million dollars for our pre-K to 8th grades. This would include salaries, health care and buildings insurances, utility bills, etc.… besides the many sacrifices our teachers, staff and volunteers make every day for the love of God and our children. In return, God blesses us with many great joys. Every year, we have non-baptized students who wanted to be baptized Catholics. Our Catholic students also love to attend Holy Mass and to receive other sacraments such as Confessions, first Holy Communion for 3rd and 2nd graders, and Confirmation for 7th and 8th graders coming up. Therefore, please know that your faithful stewardship is bearing fruit in our children. Catholic education is forming them to be true Catholics and good Americans. Our world needs more of them and less beggars, criminals, drug addicts, anti-God, and anti-human life people. As a church family, let us appreciate our teachers and staff for their excellent work and the many sacrifices they have made for the good of our church and children. If you are willing, I am hoping to give them a little raise for the upcoming school year to help them and their families during this pandemic time. We did not give them a raise this school year, per Bishop Kemme’s suggestion. I know it will be very difficult for the parish to do this, but if you are willing with your gifts of treasures, God is here to help us all. Please fill out the treasure form (tithe from your whole family income). This is required for every family, including families with children attending All Saints grade school and Catholic High Schools (Deadline is December 31st, also the deadline for your 2020 contributions to be counted for this year. In January, we’ll mail your 2020 contributions statement for your tax purposes). Please help the parish cut costs by using Direct Deposit. It is free to you and is very little cost to the parish. Complete the Orange Paper with a voided check for processing. Drop it in the collection baskets, mail or bring it to the office. If you are using Direct Deposit and still getting collection envelopes, please contact the office so that we can stop wasting money. Thank you! PLEASE JOIN US FOR THE UPCOMING CELEBRATIONS: All Saints’ PSR and Third Graders’ First Holy Communion is this weekend. Advent Parish Penance Service: Sunday, December 20th at 3pm. Guest priests are Fr. Garett Burns, Fr. Matthew Siegman, and Fr. Michael Brungardt. Christmas Eve Masses: Thursday, December 24th at 4:00pm & 5:30pm. Christmas Day, Friday, December 25th at 9:00am & 10:45am (Vietnamese). May you have a Holy Advent that will bless you and your loved ones with a blessed Christmas. Please pray for me so that I’ll always trust in God, trust in you, and love God with all my heart, mind, and soul, and of course love you too. You’re the joy of my heart, Fr.Hien My Dear Parishioners,
