My Dear Parishioners, It was so good to celebrate Mother’s Day with so many people at our Holy Masses last weekend. Together we prayed for all mothers and entrusted them to Mary, our spiritual Mother. Let us always honor them with our love and respect for that would be very pleasing to God. Graduations: First, let us congratulate our All Saints’ seniors at Kapaun Mt. Carmel Catholic High School who will graduate this Sunday afternoon at the Hartman Area. Please join me in congratulating them on this milestone in their lives. These young men and women are now ready for their professional educations. They are: Alan Alva, Etienne Borrego, Tiffany Dang, Sophia Drouhard, Andy Ha, Lily Nguyen, Natalie Odour, Kathy Pham, Ricky Pham, David Phung, & Stephanie Tran Second, let us congratulate our All Saints’ 8th graders: Alana Aguilar, Vanessa Goheen, Evelyn Hay, Alyssa Hengel, Ricardo Hernandez-Herrera, Areli Jimemez, Nicholas Kucera, Riley Logan, Kamilah Martines-Vargas, Ysela Mireles, Link Moore, Tammy Nguyen, Teresa Nguyen, Sydney Nguyen, Jordan Rangel and Holly Smaglik. We are blessed to have you with us. Priesthood Ordination: Our beloved deacon Matthew Siegman will be ordained to the priesthood on Saturday, May 25th at 10am at the Cathedral. Please join our Bishop, priests, sisters, and others for his ordination. Father Siegman’s first Holy Mass will be at All Saints on Sunday, May 26th at 3pm, followed by a cookout reception. Everyone is invited. We are blessed to have a long-time parishioner and a brother grand-Knight to serve God and to save souls. God is good and He blesses us with Fr. Siegman. Congratulations Father Siegman.
My Dear Parishioners,
God’s blessings be with you all, especially to all mothers as we celebrate Mother‘s Day weekend with them. May God bless our beloved moms with His blessings and love. We know that they love us dearly as their children and grandchildren. To let our mothers know that we love them, I will pray over them during our Holy Masses this weekend. We thank God for their gift of life to all of us and their unconditional love for us since the day we were conceived. We pray that their love for us will be like Mary’s love to her family, always true and strong. Please know, moms, that we need you in this life. You are the best mother God could have blessed us with. Thank you! Happy Mother’s Day to all moms. As a church family, we are blessed with all the children of our parish. We thank God for them too, especially twenty of them who received their first sacraments of Confession and Holy Communion last weekend. It was so good to see so many people attending their special Mass and witnessing their love for Jesus in the Holy Eucharist with His Body and Blood. God bless our children. We also thank God for our teachers who formed and educated our children. Please know that our children will remember the love and lessons you have taught them. Thank you! Finally, the school year is ending, please be sure to pray daily for your children so that they may finish their academic year well. Everyone will be very busy with many graduations, parties and traveling but please remember that God must be first every day. Please be careful and always keep God alive in your heart, mind and soul. I am looking forward to the many school activities with our church and with my family. God bless you all, Fr. Hien Building Fund: From everyone in our church family, we want to thank many individuals and families, parishioners and non-parishioners, who have contributed generously to our building fund. Up to date, we are blessed with $178,511. Every registered parishioner/family was asked for a suggested amount and if you have not contributed yet, please know that we are still waiting for your gift to our parish so that we can reach our goal of $170,000. We are grateful to you and the following donors: Tiffany Tajchman, Michael Tran & Nhung Dao, Paul & Cecelia Vanderbeke, Joe & Julie Vasquez, Vietnamese Pastoral Council, Vietnamese Food Sales, Vietnamese Prayer Group, David & Cindy Vondracek, Luu Vu, Thuy Vu, Nga Vu, Cindy Vu, Elisa Vu, Thanh Vu & Dieuhien Nguyen, Thao & Nga Vu, Tu Ngoc Vu & Oanh Thi Nguyen, Larry & Phyllis Walker, John Walsh, Carol Warren, Robert & Catalina Weber, Abraham Weiner, Michael Yocum, Leonard & Marg Zarchan, Marshal Ziegler, Charles Steven, Sarah Ball, Huong & Thong Bui, William & Susan Goheen, Joseph & Bill Hotze, Donald & Laura Knipp, Melvin & Laura Leiker, Robert & Rebecca Lies, Richard & Cathy Ludwick, Rory & Teresa McCandless, Rex & Sheryl McKnight, Doris Rohr, Greg & Charlene Versch, Delores Williams, Kim Thuy Thi Phan, Mark & Cindy Little, Minh Tran & Huong Truong, Rick & Debra Koehn, Paul & Connie Stone, Vi & Dinh Nguyen, My Dung Phung, Nam & Mary Duong, Ha & Tam Nguyen, Florentino & Enid Tuason, Patricia Crowe, Hao & Trang Tran, Juliet Werdann, Brando & Cuc Dao, Danh & Nhu Nguyen, Jason & Kristen Phillips, Becky Hotze, Khoa Bui, Glen & Benita Cox, Shanda Knipp-Barnes, Floyd Fletcher & Theresa Pitzer, Evelyn Tajchman, Tommy & Alisha Chang, Lucky Market, Annie Trinh, Virginia Simmons, Bill & Terrisa Compton, Mary Warren, Joshua & Carissa Cash, Andrew Meece, Gary & Stacey Guzman, Linh Has & Anh Tran, Harvest House, Hai & Diem Nguyen, Frank & Karen Felt, Michael & Janet Clark, Berniece Scanlan, Anna Dreiling, Ray & Mary McCulloch, Susan Loy, Pha Le & many more. My Dear Parishioners,
Welcome to the month of May, the most special month dedicated to our Blessed Mother Mary. May she always watch over us and our families everyday until we are in heaven with God for eternity. To give our love and honor to our Blessed Mother, our All Saints children will present flowers and a May crowning to Mary at our 8am school Holy Mass on Wednesday, May 1st. Please come and join us and pray with us. After Mass, our children will pray the Holy Rosary for us all. Please remember that no one can come to the Father without coming to Jesus and no one can come to Jesus without coming to His beloved Mother Mary either. This makes Mary very important to all of us sinners---“pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death, Amen.” Finally, our prayer and symphathy are extended to the family of Pedro "Pete" Caudillo. He was 89 years old and a longtime parishioner and a brother Knight. We celebrated his funeral Mass on Monday, April 29th, in our church. Please know that our children are God’s gift to us and to every family. Please join our second graders this Saturday, May 4th, for their First Holy Communion at our 4pm Mass. These children have been praying, learning and preparing their hearts, minds and souls to become one with Jesus in the Holy Eucharist. They are Christopher Bramhall, Anthony Bui, John Do, Caleb Guzman, Beyonca Irwin, Alejandro Jimenez, Minh Q. Le, Zemirah Melton, Daniel Miller-Rodriguez, Jamal Rolfe-Murray, Olyve Tajchman, Adriel Hernandez, Danh Hoang, Olivia LeDonne, Lauren Lies, Oscar Martinez, Madelyn Patterson and Joey Rupe. Our All Saints children will lead the singing at this special Mass. Please join us! Personally, I love Jesus, His teachings and His Holy examples. Do you know that every time I celebrate Holy Mass, I always look forward to Easter and remind myself that every Sunday is Easter? Why? It’s because it was after the resurrection of Jesus that He walked on the road with others. At first, they didn’t know that Jesus was walking with them. As they listened to Jesus, He opened their hearts, minds and souls. He then took bread, said the blessing and broke it before them. Suddenly their eyes were opened, and they recognized Him in the breaking of the bread. It was in the giving thanks and in the breaking of the bread that they recognized Him. God bless them and us who attend Jesus’ supper, the Holy Mass. For this reason, since I was ordained, my most important moment at Holy Mass is the taking of the bread, the giving thanks and especially at the breaking of the bread. I raise the consecrated bread/host as high as I can so that everyone in church can see and believe in Jesus with all their hearts, minds and souls. Now you know why I do what I do at Holy Mass. I love to imitate Jesus for He sent me to do His will. Happy Easter everyone with God’s blessings and with the eternal life of heaven, Fr. Hien Building Fund: From everyone in our church family, we want to thank many individuals and families, parishioners and non-parishioners, who have contributed generously to our building fund. Up to date, we are blessed with $177,461. Every registered parishioner/family was asked for a suggested amount and if you have not contributed yet, please know that we are still waiting for your gift to our parish so that we can reach our goal of $170,000. We are grateful to you and the following donors: Floyd Fletcher & Theresa Pitzer, Tommy & Alisha Chang, Lucky Market, Annie Trinh, Virginia Simmons, Bill & Terrisa Compton, Mary Warren, Joshua & Carissa Cash, Andrew Meece, Gary & Stacey Guzman, Linh Has & Anh Tran, Harvest House, Hai & Diem Nguyen, Frank & Karen Felt, Michael & Janet Clark, Berniece Scanlan, Anna Dreiling, Ray & Mary McCulloch & many more. Happy Easter Everyone,
Alleluia, the Lord is risen. His Divine mercy and love are with us. The resurrection of Jesus is God’s salvation to mankind, those who love Him and serve Him with all their hearts. Thank you everyone who attended extra Masses during the Holy Week. I’m proud of you all. Congratulations to those who entered the Catholic Church at the Easter Vigil and to those who received other sacraments in the church. We congratulate you and welcome you into our church’s family. May God be with you always! This weekend, April 28th, we will celebrate Divine Mercy Sunday at all of our Masses. Please come to church early to pray before Jesus and to join us in asking God’s mercy upon us, our families and friends and the whole world. Tuesday, April 30th is the commemoration of the Fall of Saigon, Vietnam. The Vietnamese parishioners will pray the rosary at 5:30pm, followed by Holy Mass at 6pm in the Church in Vietnamese (no 5:30pm Mass in the chapel). Everyone is invited to pray with us and to join us for the reception in the Fischer Center afterwards. For those who do not know, the main reason the Vietnamese people are living in America and scattered throughout the world today is because of the Vietnam War and the Communist regime that took over Vietnam. Many years ago, wars were going on in Vietnam, including with the United States. About 58 thousand U.S. soldiers were killed in Vietnam along with over 2 million innocent lives. April 30, 1975 was the day that the Americans left Vietnam; therefore, it was the day that the Communist party took over the entire country of Vietnam (like the North Korean Regime would take over South Korea). Beginning on that day, millions of Vietnamese, especially the Catholics and those who helped the Americans during the war, had to flee from the Communist regime by foot, air and boats for freedom and for their livelihood. Over a million people lost their lives, mostly in the Pacific Ocean, like one of my cousins and many of my neighbors. Some were drowned, some were attacked by pirates and killed. Many south Vietnamese soldiers were captured, tortured and imprisoned. April 30th was the saddest day for us Vietnamese people living outside of Vietnam. Please come and pray with us for God’s healing and peace and the eternal life to those who lost their lives (including the American soldiers) in the war and on their escape exodus. God bless their brave souls. First Holy Communion will be Saturday, May 4th at our 4pm Holy Mass. Our All Saints children will lead the singing at Mass. Our Children are Christopher Bramhall, Anthony Bui, John Do, Caleb Guzman, Beyonca Irwin, Alejandro Jimenez, Minh Q. Le, Zemirah Melton, Daniel Miller-Rodriguez, Jamal Rolfe-Murray, Olyve Tajchman, Adriel Hernandez, Danh Hoang, Olivia LeDonne, Lauren Lies, Madelyn Patterson and Joey Rupe. Happy Easter Everyone, Fr. Hien Building Fund: From everyone in our church family, we want to thank many individuals and families, parishioners and non-parishioners, who have contributed generously to our building fund. Up to date, we are blessed with $177,111. Every registered parishioner/family was asked for a suggested amount and if you have not contributed yet, please know that we are still waiting for your gift to our parish so that we can reach our goal of $170,000. We are grateful to you and the many donors. Happy Easter Everyone!
Since Easter is near, I have to write this message early for the bulletin company. On Tuesday April 16th, you are welcome to join me and all the priests of our diocese for a special Holy Mass called “the Chrism Mass.” At this special Mass, all priests will renew the promises they made on their ordination day. Our Bishop will bless all the oils for our use throughout the year. Please come and join us at the Cathedral at 11am if you can. Are you ready for Easter? To celebrate this Holy Easter full of joy and love for Jesus, please make every effort to attend our Holy Masses this Holy Week. I would like to ask every person to attend one extra Mass this week to honor Jesus. Why? It’s because Jesus loved us so much that He willingly suffered for us. He died for our sins. He rose from the dead so that we may rise with Him to eternal life in heaven. Here is our Triduum schedule: Holy Thursday at 6:30pm, Mass of the Last Supper; Good Friday at 3pm, the Passion of Jesus and the Veneration of His Holy Cross; Holy Saturday Vigil Mass at 8:30pm to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus and to welcome our new members into the Catholic Church. Here are their names so that you can start praying for them and congratulate them later. Adults: Melissa Martinez, Kathy Palacios, Dieu Vuong, James Banh. Children: William Dudula, Marissa Courtright, Areli Jimenez, Oscar and Mateo Martinez. Please also help me in thanking all those who helped with our RCIA programs for our children and adults. We are blessed to have them teaching and passing the Catholic faith on to others. On Easter Sunday: Please join me and many good-hearted people, children of God coming together to celebrate Easter. We will sing and praise God together with “Alleluia, the Lord is risen.” We will share that heavenly joy with each other. We will wish each other a Happy Easter. Me, I will have candies to make you a little sweeter on your Easter day. I promise you that they all will be super sweet, and you too on Easter Day. Finally, the Sunday after Easter Sunday, we will celebrate the Divine Mercy of God for all of humanity at all the Masses in our parish. Blessed be God forever, Fr. Hien Building Fund: From everyone in our church family, we want to thank many individuals and families, parishioners and non-parishioners, who have contributed generously to our building fund. Up to date, we are blessed with $174,611. My Dear Parishioners,
Our 40 days of Holy Lent for spiritual growth through our personal prayer, fasting and almsgiving are leading us to a joyful Easter, the resurrection of Jesus from the dead. Please know that there is still time to prepare your heart and soul for Jesus. Thank you to those who made their confession with guest priests last Sunday. I will be available for confessions before every weekend Mass, and after our 5:30pm Mass on Tuesday and Thursday, except from Holy Thursday to Easter Sunday. The Triduum is the most hectic time for pastors to get everything ready for the liturgy and everyone ready to serve well at Mass. Each Mass/service on these three days is so different and requires so much preparation. Please don’t wait until the last minute for confession. This weekend is Palm Sunday. As you enter our church for Holy Mass, please pick up only one palm so that we will have enough palms for everyone at all four Masses. I will bless you and the palms at the beginning of Mass. Triduum: please make every effort to attend one extra Mass this week on Holy Thursday at 6:30pm, Mass of the Last Supper; Good Friday at 3pm, the Passion of Jesus and the veneration of His Holy Cross; Holy Saturday Vigil Mass at 8:30pm to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus and to welcome our new members into the Catholic Church. PS. Our love, prayer and sympathy are extended to the family of Ralph Ignowski. Ralph was 96 years old, died Saturday, March 30. We celebrated his funeral Mass on Thursday, April 4. Ralph had retired from the United States Air Force after 23 years. He served in WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. Thank God for his many years as a faithful member of our church family and for his years serving our country. May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed rest in peace eternally in heaven. Amen. Finally, please know that it’s important to God and to our church family that you attend Holy Masses this week. I promise to celebrate them in a timely manner and as beautifully as I possibly can. Come and join me and so many people like us who love Jesus dearly, so that we will have a blessed Easter, Fr. Hien My Dear Parishioners,
Happy April! I hope none of you were fooled on April 1st. April is a special month of the year, when all Christians throughout the world celebrate the resurrection of Jesus from the dead. Jesus so loved us that He willingly suffered for us, died for us and rose from the dead so that we too, after our earthly suffering and death, will rise with Jesus to eternal life. Suffering and death will have no power over us if today we love Jesus and become one with Him in God’s holy sacraments. Please make every effort to pray daily, to give thanks to God for your body, mind and soul, and to always become one with Jesus in the Holy Eucharist. Jesus loves you and He is waiting for you to inherit the eternal life of heaven with all the angels and saints. 40 days of Lent are coming to an end, please join us for our parish penance service this Sunday, April 7th at 4pm, in church. Come and go as you please. Please pray your act of contrition before entering for your confession so that others don’t have to wait too long in line. Our guest confessors are Fr. Douglas Campbell (in the west confessional), Fr. Dominic Potnuru (sacristy) and Fr. Benjamin Green (east confessional). Please come to church early to make your own examination of conscience. Examination guides will be available for you. Also, please do your penance in church before heading home so that you will not forget. In all Catholic Churches, please always be respectful in God’s house by not talking/visiting in church. Church is God’s house and not a social or market place; therefore, no food or chewing gum or playing with your phones at any time in church (yes, you can use your phone in church for scripture readings or other spiritual prayers). On Sundays, please always wear your Sunday best for God to fulfill your Sunday obligation. Shorts and revealing clothes are not appropriate for Holy Mass. No one should wear a hat in church, unless for medical reasons. Also, please be on time for Masses so that you will not be locked out due to security and safety for everyone in church. The code to the single door of the church has been changed. Only those who have the need to enter the church such as for choir practice, cleaning our church and bathrooms, sacristans and homebound ministers, etc. will have access to the church through this single door. For adoration, please use the chapel’s door with it’s separate code. Love you all and can’t wait to celebrate our Catholic faith with you, Fr. My Dear Parishioners,
First, let us congratulate nineteen members of our church family who recently received their Holy Sacrament of Confirmation from Bishop Kemme. These young men and women are now fully initiated and strengthened by the Holy Spirit to live their Catholic faith as well as spread it to all the people in their lives. Please don’t be too shy to meet them and congratulate them in person. Their pictures are posted in our gathering area. We thank God for them, and may God bless them always. Also, we thank God for the spiritual blessings upon our Altar Society ladies who attended their annual retreat last Saturday. We started the retreat with Holy Mass, and we enjoyed the friendship and love of one another. God is good! Second, our parish penance service will be Sunday, April 7th at 4pm, in church. Come and go as you please. Please pray your act of contrition before entering for your confession so that others don’t have to wait too long in line. Our guest confessors are Fr. Finally, if you are reading this message before Saturday, March 30th, please know that today, our Knights of Columbus will serve us a soup supper in the Fischer Center-West from 5:00-8:00pm. The soups are Potato, Tomato, Chili, Vegetable and Pho (Vietnamese hot beef soup). Let us support our Knights and thank them for serving our parish. With your support and donations, our Knights will build for us a chain-link fence that is 375 feet long and 6 feet tall with slats for greater protection and privacy of our church and for everyone’s safety. The fence will be west of the new adoration chapel and south of the new rectory. Thank you brother Knights. We truly appreciate your ministry, Fr. Hien Building Fund: From everyone in our church family, we want to thank many individuals and families, parishioners and non-parishioners, who have contributed generously to our building fund. My Dear Parishioners,
How have your 40 days of Lent been going? Now is a good time to make a habit of examining our conscience daily. It’s also important to practice some form of sacrifice for the love of God and for the salvation of souls and for our eternal life. Our Lord loves those who serve Him by sharing our goods with others. We know that no one can earn eternal life with their money or hard work but only through God’s unconditional love of Him for every person He created. Since the beginning of creation God made His promises of blessings, rewards and eternal life to those who love Him, to those who would do good unto others, and to those who would trust in His Divine Mercy. This means that even the biggest sinner of the world can still be forgiven if he/she would trust in God and would repent, “Lord, be merciful to me a sinner; and of course, Lord remember me in your kingdom like the repentant thief.” Everyone is in my heart and prayer; please keep me in yours too. Thanks! Will you join me this coming Thursday, March 28th at 6:30pm at the Cathedral, with our Bishop to celebrate the Holy Sacrament of Confirmation on Matthew Bui, Victoria Goheen, Tabitha Hengel, James Huntimer, Devynn Knipp, Rachel Le, Zachary Logan, Krystal Luong, Angelina Mai, Ryan Meece, Zoe Miller, Izabel Mireles, Mia Moore, Anna Nguyen, Joseph Nguyen, Shaina Pham, Brandy Ramos, Jolie Spaulding and Kenny Vu. These students, our beloved young men and women of our church family, have been waiting, praying and preparing their bodies, minds and souls for this special day. Please join us. Also, I learned that our bishop has changed the age of Confirmation in our diocese to children of 6th grade, beginning next year. OH WOW! However, please don’t worry! God will help our diocese and parish to prepare our children for the divine gifts of the Holy Spirit with no problem. For now, please keep our Confirmation candidates in your daily prayer as they will be confirmed this Thursday. We love them and we are happy for them, Fr. Hien Building Fund: From everyone in our church family, we want to thank many individuals and families, parishioners and non-parishioners, who have contributed generously to our building fund. Up to date, we are blessed with $166,861. My Dear Parishioners,
40 days of Lent is here for us to deepen our relationship with God through our personal prayer, acts of penance and almsgiving to the poor or in our church. Prayer: please know that God is always listening to you; please pray to God as often as you can and whenever you can, day or night. Penance: please make an examination of conscience every day, especially when you come to church. Don’t be afraid to make a good confession in order to receive God’s blessings and forgiveness in the Holy Sacrament of confession (confession times: after Mass Tuesday & Thursday, before every weekend Mass). Please know that God’s mercy is waiting for you and it’s endless. Almsgiving: please make a personal/family commitment to help others, especially in our parish. Do you know that most of our children are from low income families; therefore, their parents can’t always give much financially to our church. Please help our parish with your time, talent and treasure so that we can continue educating and forming our children in the way of faith, hope and love. On the behalf of our children, thank you for your love and generosity. Lent: please remind each other not to eat meat on Fridays during Lent, and to pray the Stations of the Cross or to spend time in adoration. Sign up for an hour to be with Jesus. Jesus would love to be with you: to love you, to strengthen you, and to bless you. Again, if you don’t know the new code to the new chapel, please contact the church office. Again, Tuesday & Thursday Masses are held in the chapel at 5:30pm. This Friday, March 8th, please join our Knights of Columbus for Stations of the Cross at 5pm in church, followed by their fish fry in the Fischer Center (Stations of the Cross in Vietnamese at 5:30pm every Friday). Everyone is invited! Let us support our Knights in their efforts to help our parish to become a church family where we pray together and share our lives and food together. God bless our church family. The Vietnamese parishioners will hold their annual retreat with guest priests beginning Friday, March 15th to Sunday, March 17th. Our Altar Society Retreat will be on Saturday, March 23rd. To begin their retreat, I will celebrate a Holy Mass for them at 8am. Every lady in our parish is invited to join our Altar Society. Finally, please keep our confirmation students in your daily prayer as they are preparing for their Holy Sacrament of Confirmation at the Cathedral on Thursday, March 28th at 6:30pm. Soon, I will provide their names to you so that you can pray for them by name. PS: Don’t forget to forward your clock this Sunday, March 10th, Fr. Hien Building Fund: From everyone in our church family, we want to thank many individuals and families, parishioners and non-parishioners, who have contributed generously to our building fund.
