My Dear Parishioners,
Are you ready for Autumn? This Thursday, September 27th is the beginning of Autumn and yes, it’s one of my favorite times of the year. Autumn, I like the cooler weather and the changing colors in the leaves. Also, deer season will begin so I can be out in nature more often. Please know that God loves you and God will always be good to you, day or night, in peace or at war, summer or winter, fall or spring. In God there is no time and no limit of His eternal love for all of us, born and to be born, healthy or sick, free or imprisoned. Let us always trust in God and love Him today with our love for Him in nature and in one another. Again, a special thank you to all those who helped our parish by removing the old carpet in church as well as those who helped install the new vinyl. I was amazed how much work we got done together. Our church looks much brighter and nicer because of your hard work. The old carpet in our church has been there so long and it was long overdue, perhaps 10 years ago. Due to age, most areas were discolored and faded with many cracks due to ground settlement. For many of these reasons, years ago, carpet was installed on the altar and in the aisles. The carpet in the foyer was installed when the new addition was built and that was in the late 90’s. FYI: https://floorstoyourhome.com/ is where we purchased our Shaw, luxury vinyl plank loose lay for our church. As a church family, let us continue to work together to improve our church and facilities, one day at a time and one project at a time. Thank you on behalf of everyone from our church family, thank you for your prayer and support for our church. If you would like to donate to this project, please memo your check or envelope as “church flooring.” Love you all, Fr. Hien My Dear Parishioners,
9-11 is here again so we are gathering in church this weekend to pray for all the victims of 9-11 and their loved ones. I am like most of you, I still remember the day and what happened on that day, where I was at and how terrified everyone in America was. It was a sad day for America and all those who live in it. All those who were born after the tragedy of 9-11 need to learn what happened and how evil people attacked America so that together we must continue fighting against all evil - locally and globally. What happened on that day was also a sign to us that we need to keep America safe with our loyalty to America and to always pray for our country, including those who are serving in the military and armed forces. This weekend, we will pray for each other and may God bless all victims with eternal life. May we also learn to forgive our enemies so that we will receive all the blessings from God. Those who forgive much, much will be forgiven by God. God bless America and I love you all, Fr. Hien My Dear Parishioners,
Happy Labor Day weekend. God bless you and our beloved country as we all celebrate this special day. We give thanks to God for all the love and sacrifices that millions of Americans have made for our country and for the good of the whole world with their time, talent, and treasure. Yes, America is a stewardship country, where people share and contribute skills and talents and finances with each other. We are known to be the most generous nation on earth and the most financially blessed nation. America provides equal opportunity for everyone in America to work, to be educated and to contribute. Let us pray that everyone living in America always loves her and strives to be the best Americans they can be before God and to one another. Please pray also for our government so that they will act with justice, peace, and dignity for every human being, both born and yet-to-be-born Americans. God bless America and all those living in it, Fr. Hien My Dear Parishioners,
Blessing from our Lord be with you all. Please take good care of yourself and your loved ones: eat healthy, socialize with each other, help each other, and always have a restful night's sleep. Don’t forget to pray with them and for them daily. We need each other. Thank God that our new academic year started out smoothly and well. Later, I will share with you our students and their teachers’ names so that you can pray for them daily and especially at Holy Mass. Please join our students and teachers for their all-school daily Mass on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8am in Church. Our students will do the readings and singing. Our teachers and principal will be the Eucharistic Ministers. Please walk by faith with our students and teachers of All Saints. We need your support and good example. PS: Please join me in extending our love, prayers, and sympathy to the family of James Whitaker. James was put to rest on Saturday, August 20th at Calvary, and we prayed for him at our Holy Masses last weekend. Thank you to his family and friends for the memorial to our church. Greatly appreciated with love, Fr. Hien My Dear Parishioners,
God bless you all, especially our students and teachers at All Saints Catholic School. We are blessed to have our children, and to have dedicated staff and teachers working together to educate and to form them as disciples of Christ. Yes, our students will love Jesus, worship Him, and follow in His footsteps to save the world. Please pray for every one of our students so that they will learn all that they can day by day from their teachers and that they will grow in wisdom and love for God and for their families and friends, too. Please also pray for our teachers and their families, may our Lord bless them with good health and with joy to be with our students. I am thankful to each and everyone of them for their ministry for the good and salvation of our children. Our principal, staff and teachers are called to serve our Lord in our children. They will take turns writing and sharing with us in our weekly bulletin what our students are learning in their classrooms. Please read our church bulletin to keep up with all the activities in our church and school. Please join us for all school Masses on Tuesdays and Thursdays, in church at 8am. Love you all, Fr. Hien My Dear Parishioners,
Children and parents, are you ready for the new school year? Yes, it’s here and we are blessed to have you in our church and school. We at All Saints are “a diverse Roman Catholic community, centered in the Eucharist, guided by the Holy Spirit, nurturing one another through friendship, prayer, education, service, and stewardship, on the journey with Christ to the Father.” Here at All Saints, we strive to love one another and to educate and form our children in the Catholic Faith. Our goal is to help every student succeed and get everyone to heaven. Please join me in welcoming our students to All Saints Catholic School. I am sure that our students are like me, we can’t wait for a new school year, so that we can see each other again and worship together in church. May this academic year be a special year of grace and formation of the hearts, minds and souls of our children. So I ask for everyone's prayers for our students, teachers and staff. We need your prayer and support in order for us to carry out our mission here at All Saints. Without God's grace, we can do nothing, and without your help, including your stewardship of your time, talents and treasures, we can't make it very far. Pray also for good health and COVID free for everyone. Of course, we need to pray for favorable weather as well for the safety of our students, teachers and staff. Children are God's gifts to every family, community and society, let us welcome them and love them with Jesus' love for them all. God bless our students and our dedicated teachers and staff. God bless everyone of All Saints' family, Fr. Hien My Dear Parishioners,
God bless you all and may you know how much God truly loves you--eternally. Yes, God loves us eternally, no matter how holy we are or what wrong we have done, He is always ready to heal us and to forgive us, God is always by our side. Of course, if we are good and holy, our souls are full of joy and peace for we have received many blessings from our Lord. Yes, it’s true that our souls thirst for God only, versus our human bodies, that want about everything on this earth; earthly things like food, money, praise from others, and sometimes being a couch potato. Please know that every human being, born or to be born, is made in the image and likeness of God. We are to be holy and wonderful before God and one another. We are to live each moment of our life as wonderfully as we can so that we can help each other to love our lives and to thank God for our lives, and most importantly, to become saints. Sadly, there are so many depressed people in the world, especially in America. Not because we don't have enough food to eat or we don't have the love of others, but because we have not put God first in our hearts, minds, and souls. Many people are very distant from their loved ones, including their children, or parents, siblings, etc... Why? Why can't we live to love one another and respect one another? As a priest and pastor, I wish the best for everyone each day, that is, to live each day and each moment yearning for God and longing to be with one another. Yes, we all can have and live a good life full of joy, peace and happiness today. God is willing and He is always ready to give it to you. Thank you to all those who have been great role models for others by attending Holy Mass and always putting a smile on for the love of your life and others. God bless you always with His love and life within you all. Please enjoy the last few days of summertime with your loved ones before many of them will be heading out for a new academic year. Love you all, Fr. Hien My Dear Parishioners,
Please join our church’s family next Sunday, August 7th to celebrate Fr. Dwight Birket’s 50 priesthood anniversary at our Sunday, 9am Holy Mass. Father will celebrate this special Mass, and the ladies of our parish will hold a reception in the Fischer Center West, immediately after Mass, for Father and everyone to stop by and congratulate him. Father was pastor here at All Saints and he loved it here. Parents, have you registered your children to attend All Saints Catholic schools yet? We would love to have your kids join our school. Please do so ASAP so that we can order the materials for each student and to help you form your children in the way of faith, for the good of their bodies, minds, and souls. Catholic education is a special gift to every stewardship family, to have their children learning in the Catholic environment. Your child will be in uniform, pray throughout the day, attend Holy Mass, adoration, and serve as altar servers, cantors, lectors, etc.… All 6th graders and older will be prepared for their confirmation in the spring. Bishop is scheduled to offer the sacrament to our children. Thankfully, All Saints Catholic parents don’t have to pay tuition for the Catholic education of their children. (The average private school tuition in Kansas for elementary school is $7,306 and high school is $10,948 per year). Recently, we paved two new parking lots, one is east of the Fischer Center/in front of the gym for our teachers and staff to park during school days. This will free the exit driveway to allow kids to be picked up along this driveway, in front of the gym. Second, we paved a large area where the kids were standing and waiting to be picked up. Now, they don’t have to drag dirt and water into their vehicles and homes, especially on wet and snowy days. I also have been working on the concrete statues and crosses for the outside of our church and school buildings. The two crosses will be on top of All Saints’ signs on Grand Street and on Harry Street. This will help people notice right away that they are coming to a Catholic church. In front of the bell tower will be two angels standing, one on the left and one on the right hand of Jesus who is welcoming everyone to All Saints. Jesus is 6 feet tall, standing on two pedestals that are about 4 feet in height. There will be two statues of Jesus, a Mary statue, and an angel statue in front of the church, south entrance. One welcoming Jesus’ statue at the adoration chapel’s entrance door. Lastly, one special praying statue of Jesus at the entrance of the school for everyone, especially children to touch and to be around Jesus. I hope that this will help them to feel close to Jesus and to pray to Him every day. I am thankful that I have been able to get a lot of work done for our church and school, even though it has been so hot. God is good to us all. If anyone would like to donate to these projects, please memo it as “statues.” Thank you and greatly appreciated, with much love and prayers, Fr. Hien My Dear Parishioners,

I hope you had a great 4th of July celebration with your family and friends. Again, may we all know how blessed we are living in America and having one another by our side. God is good and let us be good to God and to one another with our love and kindness each day. As good Catholics, we are to put God above all things. Of course, we are to register in a parish and live our stewardship way of life with our time, talent, and treasure to God in our parish. Not that God needs us or any of the things we have, but it’s for our sake that we must show God that we love Him above all things and always trust in Him. We are also to show God daily that we care for our souls and the salvation of others. For this reason, being faithful stewards is very important by attending Holy Mass to fulfill our obligation before God, and by sharing our skills and talents with others as well as our finances to educate our children in the Catholic faith with a Catholic education. Can you believe that in about 3 weeks our teachers will return to school to get their classrooms and lessons ready for the new school year? We are blessed with dedicated teachers, parish staff, and many faithful parishioners supporting Catholic education with their stewardship. God bless them and God bless our church family. Please enjoy your summertime with one another. Don’t waste your time and life by doing nothing. Many people in this life have not done many good deeds or put their Christian faith into practice; let none of us ever make this mistake. Live well, live happy, live joyfully, live with God and with each other. PS. Please join me in extending our love, prayers, and sympathy to the Hotze family, especially to Fr. John. Joseph A. Hotze, 64, passed to eternal life on Wednesday, June 29. His rosary was held on Tuesday and funeral Mass was on Wednesday, July 6th in our Church. The Hotze family has been a long-time parishioner of our parish. May Joe and all those who loved our Lord be with Him for eternal life. With much love and prayers, Fr. Hien |
